Children are able to learn self-expression and self-confidence through acting which allows them freedom to choose who or what they will become and provides a positive outlet for them to raise their voice and believe in themselves.

Modeling gives power, courage, boldness and confidence.

Modeling provides a sense of beauty and fullfillment. Through modeling, children are taught to stand strong and keep their head up, instilling them with confidence and belief in themselves. Everyone wants to feel beautiful, special and unique, especially children. Modeling helps build self-esteem and confidence.

Music can be soulful. It provides solace even on the darkest days.

Music can help reduce stress, anxiety and it indulges people in a trance. Music can heal people and provide them comfort. It can be used to express joy, love and calmness.

Dance is the epitome of self-expression, self-confidence and

discipline. It is a fun and positive way to teach the importance of taking care of your body.

Martial arts teaches children peaceful, non-violent conflict resolution skills and emphasizes that the physical altercation must be avoided. Martial Arts also contributes to a growth that can help with Self-Confidence

Arts educational experiences have remarkable impacts on students’ academic, social, and emotional outcomes. Students who receive more arts education experiences are more interested in how other people feel and more likely to want to help people who are treated badly.

Health education can provide the necessary tools to help children make better nutritional decisions. Bechlem teaches the importance of healthy food choices and self-care. Bechlem provides nutritional meals to students.   Bechlem participates in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (U.S.D.A.) Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).  Our food program meets the USDA’s nutritional and standards requirements for a balanced and nutritious meal.   All meals at the center are served family style.   Teachers assist children in making mealtime a warm, relaxing, learning and sharing experience.
